Where You Been (WEA/Sire/Blanco Y Negro, 1993, DMM) Was it worth the $20? Probably, but I don't play it a lot. I can't comment about how this LP sounds compared to an original, but I will say it's a tad more revealing than the 90's CD I grew up with, but not much - it still sounds thin and compressed, but with more air in the mix, greater detail, and a softer presentation. This album does boast some great songs, though I can't say I'm impressed with the sound - this album has never really sounded good, IMO. album that I own and it is another treble-fest - there does not even appear to a bass on many tracks. Anyway, this is my least favorite Dino Jr. I thought this was cut by Kevin Gray, but Discogs says Ron McMaster - I'll check the deadwax later. Green Mind (WEA/Rhino, 2006 reissue, Ron McMaster) if I see originals for decent prices, I will probably snag them, unless someone can convince me that they're really not worth it. Overall, I'm happy to have them for the price, but wish I had held out for originals (since I've seen all three of these titles in person within the last year or so). It may be just the recording EQ (these were never very crisp recordings), but I can't help but wonder if the SST originals sound better, especially since I suspect these Janos cuts are from a digital source. Initially I thought these sounded good (definitely better than any CD/MP3/Cassette I've heard (I had Bug on tape back in the day)), but nowadays I'm in doubt whenever I listen to them - they are so thin and fragile, in spite of the unholy noise they conjure. I have been thinking that there needs to be a catch-all Dino Jr. ![]()
